The route from Turzovka to Korňa

The route begins in the town of Turzovka and continues towards the roundabout and into Korňa, where you can stop by the Korňa Oil Spring or a windmill, or walk along the Bylinková lekáreň (Herbal Pharmacy) educational trail or the children's educational trail. Another fascinating attraction is the Živčáková Marian pilgrimage site, the alleged location of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1958, which still draws thousands of pilgrims today. A 3 km long asphalt road will lead you directly to it from Korňa. The red-marked Kysuce Cycling Route leads through the village of Korňa to the Korňa, Zátoka bus stop (bus turnaround). From there, continue through picturesque Kysuce settlements and homesteads to the bus stop in Horný Kelčov, and then follow the main road through Vysoká nad Kysucou back to Turzovka. The sprawling Kysuce village of Vysoká nad Kysucou is the birthplace of the prominent academic painter Miroslav Cipár, Štefan Hunčík (the owner of the world's largest tinker workshop), and the ancestors of E. A. Cernan, the last man to walk on the Moon. You can enrich your cycling trip by visiting his memorial room.
The route runs along asphalt, gravel, and paved roads and is suitable for an MTB bike.
