Lookout Tower Zákopčiek
Kysuce
Zákopčie Lookout Tower on Marťácky Hill (854 m a.s.l.) was added above the Petránky settlement in Zákopčie in the autumn of 2011. It is built according to the design of architect Stanislav Mikovčák from traditional natural materials – stone and wood. The lookout tower is located on the Javorníky ridge and is accessible from Čadca, Zákopčie, Nesluša, and Ochodnica. From it, you can see the queen of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids – Lysá Hora, the highest peak of Kysuce – Veľká Rača, or the majestic Veľký Rozsutec in Malá Fatra.
The lookout tower is open year-round, covered by a roof. A covered wooden shelter for hikers, cyclists, or cross-country skiers and a fireplace for grilling are also built next to the lookout tower.
How to get there?
We recommend starting from Zákopčie from the U Rulcov settlement. Continue along the road to the U Trnkov settlement and then follow the blue trail to Petránky. From there, take the red trail to the lookout tower. There is also an option to shorten the route via an unmarked path from the U Trnkov settlement. At the intersections towards the lookout tower, choose the right path.ROUTE: U Rulcov – U Trnkov – Petránky – Rozhľadňa Zákopčie
