Dubová Lookout Tower

The lookout tower, in the form of a galvanized steel structure, stands above the town of Rajec, on the site of an original watchtower built near the Rajec Castle (Rajecký hrad).
You can reach the tower via the educational trail "Okolím Rajeckého hradu" (Around the Rajec Castle), which leads from Rajec through the village of Jasenové to the lookout tower and back to Rajec.During the ascent to Mount Dubová, you can learn about the local flora, fauna, and history through information boards. From the observation platform, you will enjoy a view of the Rajec Basin (Rajecká kotlina), the town of Rajec, surrounding villages, and mountains. If you prefer a shorter trip only to the lookout tower itself, take the green tourist trail directly from the town center. The journey takes about an hour, is 2.5 km long, and has an elevation gain of 278 meters.

The Rajec Valley (Rajecká dolina) offers many attractions. You can plan a trip to the fairytale village of Čičmany or to the moving wooden Nativity Scene (Betlehem) in Rajecká Lesná. It would also be a shame not to visit Rajecké Teplice, which is home to the most famous natural thermal healing spa in Slovakia.
