Divinka Lookout Tower

The tall wooden lookout tower stands along the "Veľký Vrch" educational trail in the village of Divinka. Fortified settlements (hillforts) rise above the village, serving as a symbol of the architectural skill of our ancient ancestors. The educational trail begins in the center of the village and leads all the way to the summit area of the hillfort. During the walk, the information boards will teach you interesting facts about the history of the settlement. You can already enjoy magnificent views during the ascent. The tower offers a lovely view of the Javorníky Mountains, the village of Divina, the ridge of the Lúčanská Malá Fatra, Žilina, and the Súľov Rocks (Súľovské skaly).
If the walk along the educational trail was not enough, you can visit the nearby Budatín Castle, which features a unique wire-craft (tinkering) exhibition, or the Wedding Palace in Bytča, which houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to Palatine Juraj Turzo, who had the palace built.
How to get there?
The educational trail leads directly from the center of the village along a forest path to the summit. The ascent will take you approximately 45 minutes. Parking area near the cemetery.The bus stop "Divinka, OcÚ" is accessible by bus lines from Žilina.
